State Court Interpreter Practice Written Exam with Proctor and Guided Discussion
This realistic experience helps prepare you both academically and psychologically for the court interpreter credentialing test used in most U.S. states, in all languages. Proctored online exam Saturday, September 19, 2026, 10:00 AM–12:15 PM Central.
This is a one-time, realistic experience designed to prepare you for the court interpreter credentialing examination used by member states of the NCSC (formerly called the Consortium). You will participate in an online sitting of the practice exam on a specified date and time, under the supervision of a proctor, just as you would be during the actual examination. You will have the allotted 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete the exam—or you may submit your responses sooner if you finish early—and you will receive your score and corrections immediately. After the exam, join a group Zoom debrief with an instructor to ask questions, review challenging items, and discuss effective study strategies. This experience prepares you not only for the exam's demanding vocabulary and legal content, but also for the additional pressure of working under time constraints while being observed on camera in a group testing environment.
Your Instructor
Marco is a federally certified and state licensed Spanish court interpreter, and is one of the authors of the book Firearms and Other Handheld Weapons. He has twenty-seven years of experience in translation and interpretation, a Master of Arts degree in Spanish, and is a frequent conference speaker on language access topics at legal conferences. He is also an American Translators Association certified Spanish to English translator. He sometimes teaches court interpreting at the University of Texas and legal translation at Austin Community College. Marco is past president of the Austin Area Translators and Interpreters Association and the Texas Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators, and was the state's first Language Access Coordinator.
